Colombia’s Fashion Week 2016
Colombia’s Fashion Week. I’m so proud about what Colombia is doing and the great event they are showing this year.
In previous years I haven’t paid much attention to the event, although I have worked with models that have walked runways and worked with wonderful brands associated. It all changed this year, and in a certain way I feel guilty for not having paid the necessary attention in previous occasions.
The surprise while watching the Runways and the media around the event is endless. It feels as if the whole City stopped for a couple of days to enjoy and share what Fashion is about. Of course it all makes sense as you know that Medellin is Colombia’s textile capital, however, looking at numbers of 11,000 buyers attending the show is something you can’t just overlook.
I feel proud of what all the brands, old and new are creating. I’m also very proud of watching the reach that those brands are having around the world and specially the US Market, being that I’m located in this market.
It has made me re evaluate my strategy and put Colombia as a top destination to do business with a global vision.
It started officially today and it goes until the 28th, and it is one of those events that has been built with so much care and attention to detail; that you don’t want it to end but last a little longer, so you can enjoy whatever surprise may come next. I will be sharing my impressions regarding the Runways, the brands and the trends because I consider they will create a global impact soon. They already did to my eye.
